One of the common misconceptions about the ambient media is to confine its use to the alternative kinds of media. As such, ambient media can be used together with the commonly used traditional media and the new-fangled media. Advertising experts believe that the ambient media can be put to best use if you are able to choose the appropriate media format and the appropriate advertisement message to impart to the audience. In fact, there are many things that the traditional media cannot provide which the ambient media can. First of which is that the traditional media has the tendency to be confined to old ways, methods and practices which are often no longer responsive to the needs of the time. Hence, at this point, you would be able to see the flexibility and the versatility of the ambient media to adjust to the present advertising concerns. Another factor to consider is that in a highly modernise world today, there are aspects wherein the traditional media does not work or if it could still work, it is not able to convey the very message of the advertisement which the ambient media can. This is precisely because this type of media was developed almost of the same time as that when the advertisement was conceptualized so there is not much gap between the kind of media and the concept.
To give you an understanding of what ambient media is like, it is a media that caters to a particular message that a certain company wants to promote. Say for example a company that is into environmental protection through the use of organic products. If this particular company is into the production of bags, then the company can place into its bag products certain slogans that would identify the company and that would bring the message of the company –this is what ambient media is all about. Ambient media is able to inculcate into their consumers brand awareness and at the same time tell the consumers what efforts the company is in to.
