Exploring Alternative Media Advertising through Ambient Media

Ambient Media found its way to our modern media society sometime in the year 1999.  In fact, it first came out as a new jargon in the media industry of the United Kingdom which by the time it emerged was still unknown to many of the people who are into the media advertising industry.  It was quite difficult to determine how this new kind of media can be incorporated into the traditional media that caters to the advertising world.  Ambient media was neither hard to decipher how it would fit in to the newer kinds of media such as the alternative media.  Nonetheless, many advertising experts believe that the ambient media is new specie of the non-traditional media or the alternative media. 

One of the common misconceptions about the ambient media is to confine its use to the alternative kinds of media.  However, you should be able to understand that the best way to make a good advertisement is to be able to make a good combination of media that were used before and that are known today.  As such, ambient media can be used together with the commonly used traditional media and the new-fangled media.  If you intend to use the ambient media singly, that is still possible provided that you are able to assure that the media alone can stand the challenge of advertisement needs and requirements in order to strategically make your advertisement.

To give you an understanding of what ambient media is like, it is a media that caters to a particular message that a certain company wants to promote. Say for example a company that is into environmental protection through the use of organic products.  If this particular company is into the production of bags, then the company can place into its bag products certain slogans that would identify the company and that would bring the message of the company –this is what ambient media is all about.  Ambient media is able to inculcate into their consumers brand awareness and at the same time tell the consumers what efforts the company is in to.
