Essential Information about TV Advertising Space

It is difficult to turn on the television without viewing a commercial.  Television commercials are more than content to fill space in between shows.  Companies put a lot of time and effort into investing in TV advertising space, as well as their commercials produced.  Through the use of TV advertising space, companies and businesses have been able to promote new products and enhance their sales.

The overall effect of TV advertising space has placed such a large impact on the public that it is considered to be a top priority for politicians in a successful election, especially in the US.  In some countries, such as France and Japan, political advertisements via TV advertising space are forbidden. 
 
Characteristics 
Many advertising agencies make use of TV advertising space with catchy phrases or witty humor.  In fact, many studies produced for psychological studies have shown the effect of humor on the power of advertising persuasion.  In other words, viewers are more likely to be convinced of the product or service if the advertisement contains humor or witty appeal.   
In many European countries, TV advertising space is only used for less frequent advertising breaks.  For example, instead of a commercial lasting for 3 minutes at every 8 minute interval, there are 6 or 7 minutes of commercials every half hour.  The European Union Legislation also limit’s the time for commercial breaks to 12 minutes per hour.  On the other hand, that is the maximum limit so the regulations vary within the EU and outside of Europe.   
In the UK, the BBC, or British Broadcasting Corporation, is funded by a license fee.  On the commercial channels, the amount of TV advertising space allowed is an average of 7 minutes per hour, with a limit of 12 minutes for any clock hour.  With the growth of multi-channel television, TV advertising space has changed considerably.  Thirty second commercials can be bought on digital channel broadcast stations for less than £50.  There was also an announcement this year that the TV advertising space and tele-shopping regulations would be changing codes.  This means that there will be a change in duration and frequency for all adverts on television.  

Purchasing TV advertising space is somewhat more expensive than other marketing mediums.  However, if you are searching for a method to target a larger audience in a short amount of time, then TV advertising space is the most common answer.
