These printers made it possible to print a large banner to be put on panels and installed on flat bed trucks. In the mid 1990’s Jamaican born Delroy Cowan developed a concept that permitted rotating signs to be placed on each side of a mobile truck. Each side contained three ads. The ad changed every few seconds allowing multiple ads to be displayed using one mobile billboard truck.

In the latter part of the 1990’s the mobile billboard trailer, became popular in the United States. This mobile outdoor advertising creation allowed smaller, local business owners to rent a mobile trailer and drive it themselves for a specified amount of time. This gives flexibility and cost savings for the business owner because they don’t have to enter into longer contracts. The mobile billboard trailer can be rented for single day or for a few consecutive days depending on the type of promotion.
